Career
Shubman Gill made his debut with the Under-16 Punjab Team in 2014-2015. Playing as a specialist batsman scored a double ton and remained unbeaten. This outstanding performance got Shubman Gill the ticket to play for the Punjab State team in 2016-17, and he celebrated it with a century.
He was selected for the Under 19 Indian national side, which triumphed over England under 19 teams, and in the same year, he scored a century against the Services team. He was nominated as Vice Captain for the Under -19 Indian squad for playing the World Cup. He scored 372 runs in the tournament, making him the highest scorer, and was awarded as the ‘Player of the Tournament’ by the official cricket body “ICC.”
In January 2018, he was bought by KKR for ₹1.8 Cr, and he made his IPL debut in April 2018. In the same year, he played Ranji and scored a double century against Tamilnadu and followed up with a gritty knock of 148 against Hyderabad in December 2018.
It took Gill only fifteen innings to complete 1000 runs in First-class cricket. In January, he debuted for the Indian team against New Zealand in an ODI. He captained the India Blue team and Indian C team in 2019. In the process, he scored a double ton against West Indies A, making him the youngest Indian player to achieve so.
