Mohammed Siraj made his first-class debut in Ranji Trophy (2015-2016 season) playing for Hyderabad. In the 2016-17 Ranji tournaments, he came to the limelight by taking 41 wickets and topped the tables. His T20 baptism came in 2016, playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament.
This outstanding performance in the Ranji Trophy Tournament got Mohammed Siraj the ticket to play for India in theT20 format against New Zealand in November 2017. He played an ODI in January 2019 against Australia. In 2019 he played his second T-20 against Bangladesh. These were his International appearances, and nothing came after that. Apart from taking Kane Williamson’s wicket, his performance was dismal. In the IPL, his performances were average, too, but RCB chose him over many other contenders as he could prove to be a match-winner any day.
However, he bagged 2.6 Crores from Sun risers Hyderabad in the auction of 2017 IPL, which hit the headlines.
In 2017 he started his IPL career as a member of Sun risers Hyderabad. He was transferred to RCB at Rs. 2.2 Cr in the following year and has stayed with them to date.
