Career
Shivam Mavi made his debut with the Under -16 Indian team debut in Ranji Trophy (2007-08 season) but was dropped from the team even though his performance was above par. This prompted him to move back to UP from Delhi. It was his coach Anureeth Singh who spotted his talent and coached him into a fast bowler.
He got his first break by claiming nine wickets in one innings in 2017 in the zonal Challengers matches. He continued to play for his state UP, Board President’s XI, India A, India u-23, and Indian Board President’s XI.
His International Exposure came in when he was selected to play for India U-19 in the ICC tournament against England U-19. The selectors noted his consistent and furious pace at 140 KPH. The match against the Australian U-19 team was a standout for Mavi, as he had them struggling with his extraordinary speed but consistent length.
Noting his consistency, KKR picked him up in the 2018 auction for a handsome three Cr. He played for them in 2018 and 2020 but missed out on the 2019 IPL edition as he sustained a back injury.
