Arnab Ranjan Goswami was born on the 7th of March, 1973, in Guwahati, Assam. He is the editor-in-chief as well as the managing director of the Republic Media Network, which owns and operates two media channels Republic Bharat (Hindi) and Republic TV (English).

Arnab Goswami attended schools across different cities due to the postings of his army officer father. He passed the board exams of 10th standard in Delhi from St. Mary’s School and the board exams of 12th standard in Jabalpur from Kendriya Vidyalaya. He studied Bachelor’s in Sociology in Delhi from Hindu College. He did his Master’s in Social Anthropology at Oxford University from St. Antony’s College.

His father has written various books and received the Assam Sahitya Sabha Award in 2017. Rajani Kanta Goswami, his paternal grandfather, was a renowned lawyer. Gaurisankar Bhattacharyya, his maternal grandmother, was an elected legislator.
Arnab started his career as a journalist with The Telegraph but joined NDTV in less than a year, where he worked till 2006. He then joined Times Now as the editor-in-chief. In November 2016, Arnab Goswami resigned from Times Now. Since May 2017, he is the managing director and editor-in-chief of the Republic Media Network.
Arnab Goswami received the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2010. He also won the ENBA award in 2012 for News Television Editor-in-Chief of the year.
On the 8th of December, 2019, he was elected as the President of the News Broadcasting Federation unanimously.
